Doug Obey is a community activist, financial planner, loving husband and devoted father.
Doug Obey is no stranger to hard work. After his parents divorced, his mother raised Doug and his three siblings on a waitress’ salary. At an early age, he went to work in a restaurant to contribute to the household income and pay for his college education.

Currently he helps clients plan for their financial future which includes retirement planning and paying for college tuition. He has considerable knowledge in tax planning and fiscal management.
Doug has been involved in community activities in Westwood for years. He co-founded and chaired the Together We Can Hat’s Off Program where he and his small committee focused on young children’s self esteem by awarding certificates and hats in the elementary schools for extraordinary deeds done by children in town.
Shortly thereafter he was invited to and became treasurer, president and ultimately chairman for the newly formed Westwood Fields Association (WFA) a volunteer organization which was created to maintain many of the Westwood playing fields, keeping them safe for children’s sports. During Doug’s tenure the WFA raised over $300,000.
Politically Doug has been active in town politics and the league of women voters. Presently he is the Chairman of the Westwood Republican Town Committee.
For many years Doug and his wife, Maureen, lived in Dedham, where their three children were born before moving to Westwood where they have resided for over 17 years. Their children attended public school and graduated from Westwood High School. Justin is a recent graduate of Bentley College, Shannon is a junior at Providence College and Taylor is attending Northeastern University.
